Decorating for You
When designing or redecorating your your room, be sure to keep one thing in mind. Do it for you. You are the only one who will need to live with the end results which can be quite marvelous if you take a few precautions.
If you don't know what you want, don't try to figure it out as you go along. Know exactly your theme, color scheme and style.
Take a color palette with you when you shop either on line or at boutiques. A great way to do this is collect a few color swatch cards from paint stores. You'll also be able to select complementary colors without investing in money and time. It's a lot easier to toss out a swatch card than it is to re-paint or re-decorate.
Also, do this with fabric swatches. You'll be surprised that the creamy yellow you saw on your walls will be rememered differently when you get to a home decor shop. You may end up with the wrong hue.
Finally, get as many books from the library or go to on line tutorials about home decorating and color schematic. It may seem overwhelming at first, but anyone can learn to be a pro in no time.
